Prosper is one of the fastest-growing towns in Collin County, and it's also one of the clearer cases for McKinney National Airport (DTX): about 14 miles east via US-380, roughly 24 minutes non-rush-hour. Both DFW (about 33 miles, 40 minutes) and Dallas Love Field (about 32 miles, 39 minutes) run noticeably longer — there's no close-call airport for Prosper the way there is for Plano.

That gap matters more once Avelo's flights begin November 11, 2026: Las Vegas, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Fort Myers, all reachable without crossing into central Dallas traffic.

The catch is the same one every nearby city faces — DTX launches with five routes on one airline, not DFW's global network or Love Field's Southwest map. For anything outside those five destinations, the longer drive south is still the only option for now.

Drive times are non-rush-hour estimates and will vary with traffic on US-380, which sees significant congestion during Frisco and Prosper's ongoing growth-driven construction.
