Wylie is the most genuinely contested city on this list. McKinney National Airport is about 17 miles north via FM 1378, roughly 26 minutes. Dallas Love Field is about 26 miles southwest, roughly 33 minutes. Seven minutes apart is not a difference you plan a trip around.

So the honest answer for Wylie is that the drive does not decide it — the route map does. Love Field is Southwest's base, which means a wide domestic network and two checked bags included on most fares. DTX means nine Avelo destinations, a four-gate terminal, and a checkpoint you can clear in a fraction of the time. If Avelo flies where you are going, the shorter terminal experience is the whole argument; if it does not, Love Field wins without an argument.

DFW, at about 40 miles and 47 minutes, is the one that clearly loses on drive time for Wylie — worth knowing, because it is the airport most people default to.

One practical note: the FM 1378 route north runs through Lavon and Lucas on two-lane stretches, so a wet morning or a school-hour departure can add meaningfully to the estimate. Drive times here are non-rush-hour estimates.
