Via US-75 South. Estimates are non-rush-hour and will vary with traffic.

Anna is one of the fastest-growing small cities in Collin County, and it sits at the point on US-75 where the drive south to DFW stops being an inconvenience and starts being the worst part of the trip: about 50 miles and 57 minutes, each way.

McKinney National Airport is about 13 miles away, roughly 18 minutes. That is a 39-minute saving in each direction over DFW, and about 32 minutes over Dallas Love Field — which works out to well over an hour of a round trip spent not sitting on US-75 or the President George Bush Turnpike.

The usual caveat applies, and it matters more the further north you live: DTX opens with five Avelo routes and adds Denver, Atlanta, Nashville, and New Orleans in December. For anything outside those nine, Anna residents still face the long drive south. But for those nine, the arithmetic is not close — and because the drive is short, an early-morning departure from DTX does not require leaving the house in the middle of the night the way a DFW flight does.

Drive times are non-rush-hour estimates and will vary with US-75 traffic, which is heaviest southbound between 7 and 9 a.m.
