Where these numbers come from

Parking ratesare each airport’s own published figures, last checked 2026-09-16. DFW’s increase on October 1, 2026 is built in — the calculator uses whichever rate is in effect today. DTX has published none, and we do not guess. See the full rate table.

Drive distances and times are non-rush-hour estimates per city. Drive times are non-rush-hour estimates and vary with traffic on US-75, US-380, and the tollways. Drive times by city.

Door-to-gate time adds the drive, the walk or shuttle from your parking spot, bag drop when you check a bag, and a typical security-plus-walk time for the size of the airport. It is not a security wait-time feed.

Bag and airfare figuresare the ones you enter. We ship defaults for bag fees because they help you start, not because they are any airline’s quoted rate.

Questions about this tool

Is DTX always cheaper than DFW?

No. DTX is closer for almost everyone in Collin County, which usually wins on time, fuel, and parking — DTX's reported $15 a day is less than half DFW's terminal rate. But Avelo flies nine routes, and DFW's fare on a given route can easily be lower. That is the trade this calculator is built to show.

Where does the DTX parking rate come from?

$15 a day was reported by Community Impact on September 24, 2026. The airport's own website had not posted the rate as of September 25; if the official figure differs, we will update the calculator.

Where do the drive times come from?

They are non-rush-hour driving estimates for each city, the same figures used on our closest-airport pages. Every one is editable if you know your own commute better.

Do these figures include the return drive?

Yes. Fuel is priced for the round trip — two legs if you park, four if someone drops you off and comes back for you. Rideshare is priced as two fares.
