Cost comparison

Parking is the single biggest variable in whether flying from McKinney beats driving to DFW or Love Field. DTX's reported $15 a day is about what DFW charges for its remote lot ($14–16), without the shuttle ride. Against DFW terminal parking at the October rates, five days at DTX saves $110–125.

How much does parking cost at McKinney National Airport (DTX)?
$15 a day, paid through a contactless system, across 980 public spaces. The rate was reported by Community Impact on September 24, 2026, alongside Avelo's new-route announcement; the airport's own website had not posted it yet as of September 25. For comparison, DFW terminal parking rises to $37–40 a day on October 1, 2026, and Love Field's garages run $18–24.
How much is long-term parking at DTX?
The reported rate is $15 a day, so a five-day trip runs about $75. No separate weekly rate or economy-lot discount has been announced. Economy long-term is one of four lot types the airport has said will surround the terminal; if a cheaper tier is published, we will add it here.
Is the $15 DTX parking rate official?
It was reported on September 24, 2026 by Community Impact, in coverage of the airport's announcements that day. The airport had said it would post rates on its website and social media by September 2026; as of September 25 its site still said rates would be determined soon. We check the airport's site weekly and will note any change here.
How many parking spaces does the new McKinney terminal have?
The public lot opens with 980 spaces, built with room to expand to roughly 1,450. It is served by a dedicated access road off FM 546, which keeps terminal traffic separate from the airport's existing general-aviation entrances.
Will there be overnight parking at McKinney airport?
Yes. Daily and economy long-term parking are both among the announced lot types, so overnight and multi-day stays are covered from opening day. At the reported $15 a day, a week runs about $105.
Can I reserve or prebook DTX parking in advance?
Not yet. A parking vendor has been selected but no booking system has gone live, so there is nothing to reserve ahead of the November 11 opening. If you are flying out of DFW or Love Field in the meantime, both airports let you prebook, and DFW advertises up to 50% off drive-up rates for prebooked parking.
Is parking at DTX cheaper than DFW or Love Field?
Yes, against almost everything. DTX's reported $15 a day is less than half DFW's terminal rate from October 1 ($37 TollTag / $40 card) and below every Love Field garage ($18–24). Only DFW Remote is comparable at $14–16, and it adds a shuttle ride. DTX's lot is a short walk from a four-gate terminal, and for a Collin County traveler the drive saved is often 45 minutes each way.
Is there a cell-phone waiting lot?
Yes, a free cell-phone lot is among the four announced lot types, so drivers meeting an arriving passenger will not have to circle the terminal curb.
Can I drop off passengers curbside?
