Avelo Adds Sarasota and West Palm Beach From McKinney, and More Las Vegas Flights
McKinney now has 11 nonstop destinations, and the first flight hasn't left yet. Both new routes are Florida, twice a week, from mid-December.

On October 15, 2026, Avelo Airlines added two more nonstop routes from McKinney National Airport (DTX): Sarasota/Bradenton and West Palm Beach. It's the airline's second route announcement for McKinney in three weeks, and it takes DTX to 11 destinations before the terminal has opened.
The schedule: Sarasota/Bradenton (SRQ) starts Wednesday, December 16, 2026, twice a week on Wednesdays and Saturdays. West Palm Beach starts Thursday, December 17, twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays. West Palm Beach's airport is the former Palm Beach International, renamed President Donald J. Trump International this year; Avelo lists it under its new code, DJT, though some booking sites may still show PBI.
Las Vegas gets busier too. Avelo is adding two seasonal flights on Wednesdays and Saturdays, on top of the Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday service that starts November 12, for six a week. Avelo hasn't said exactly when the extra Las Vegas flights begin, so check aveloair.com before planning around a Wednesday or Saturday departure.
What it means for the calendar: from the week of December 16, DTX has seven departures on Thursdays and Sundays, six on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, four on Wednesdays, and still none on Tuesdays, or 36 a week. Once the extra Las Vegas flights are running, it's 38.
Florida is now six of McKinney's 11 routes: Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Sarasota and West Palm Beach. Sarasota is a Gulf Coast beach-and-culture trip, about an hour south of Tampa; West Palm Beach is the Atlantic side, with Palm Beach just over the bridge. Both twice-weekly schedules allow three- or four-night trips, and no shorter.
The intro fare is gone. Avelo sold one-way fares from $69 for travel January 7–31, 2027, but they had to be bought by October 22, 2026. Check aveloair.com for current fares.
We've added destination guides, route pages, and deal pages for both cities, and our weekend trip finder now includes them.
