Avelo Adds Denver, Atlanta, Nashville, and New Orleans From McKinney — Before Its First Flight

McKinney goes from five routes to nine before a single flight has left. The $99 intro fares on the new routes have to be booked by October 12.

McKinney National Airport's new commercial terminal, where Avelo is now basing three Boeing 737-800s

On September 24, 2026, Avelo Airlines added four new nonstop routes from McKinney National Airport (DTX): Denver, Atlanta, Nashville, and New Orleans. That takes McKinney from five destinations to nine, seven weeks before the first flight is scheduled to leave.

The schedule: Denver (DEN) and Atlanta (ATL) start December 16, 2026, each four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Nashville (BNA) and New Orleans (MSY) start December 17, 2026, each twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays. They join the launch routes: Fort Myers from November 11, Las Vegas and Orlando from November 12, and Fort Lauderdale and Tampa from November 19. Across all nine, DTX goes to 32 weekly Avelo departures, and there are still no Tuesday flights on any route.

Avelo is also moving a third Boeing 737-800 to McKinney, up from the two it originally planned to base here. A third aircraft is what makes the added flying possible. It also signals that Avelo is committing more to this base, not trimming it — worth noting from an airline that closed three other bases earlier this year. Avelo now puts the base at about 150 jobs, including pilots, flight attendants, and aircraft technicians.

The fare that matters now: Avelo is selling introductory one-way fares from $99, including a checked bag, for travel December 1–17, 2026 and January 7–31, 2027. Those fares must be purchased by 11:59 p.m. Pacific on October 12, 2026. As with any launch sale, seats at the headline price are limited and the dates exclude the peak holiday weeks, so the $99 fare will not be there on every flight.

The new routes also change what kind of airport DTX is. The launch lineup was almost entirely Florida and Las Vegas: beach and leisure trips. Denver adds a ski-season route, Atlanta a big Southeast city, and Nashville and New Orleans two of the most popular long-weekend trips in the South. For Collin County travelers who have been driving to Love Field for Southwest's Nashville and New Orleans flights, the Thursday-and-Sunday schedule is built for a three-night weekend.

The limits are the same as before: one airline, fixed days of the week, and for Nashville and New Orleans only two flights a week. If your dates don't fit, DFW and Love Field still fly all four cities daily. If they do, the drive and the parking bill are much smaller. DTX parking is reported at $15 a day, against DFW's terminal rate of $37–40 from October 1.

We've added destination guides for all four cities, route pages with the operating days, and deal pages for the $99 fares. Our weekend trip finder and airport comparison tools now include the new routes.
