The new commercial terminal
A $79 million, 46,000-square-foot passenger terminal with four gates (expandable to six) opens for Avelo Airlines' November 11, 2026 launch. The FAA issued the airport's Part 139 operating certificate on September 24, 2026 — the first new one for a Texas airport in more than 20 years. The airport projects roughly 200,000 passengers in its first year of commercial operations.
Parking
A 980-space public lot opens with the terminal, with room to expand to 1,450 spaces. Parking is $15 a day with contactless payment, as reported on September 24, 2026. Short-term, long-term economy, and cell-phone waiting areas are planned around the new terminal.

Security
TSA checkpoints with PreCheck and standard lanes are planned to be operating for the November 11, 2026 opening. TSA baggage-screening equipment was already in the building by late September.
