Commercial Flights Coming to McKinney: What Travelers Should Know

McKinney National Airport has been the subject of ongoing planning discussions around a future commercial passenger terminal — and now has a confirmed launch date. This article tracks the most recent public information.

Avelo Airlines will begin commercial passenger service from the airport's new DTX terminal in November 2026, on a staggered schedule by route: Fort Myers on November 11, Las Vegas and Orlando on November 12, and Fort Lauderdale and Tampa on November 19. General aviation, corporate jets, and flight training continue under the airport's existing TKI designation.

At launch, travelers can expect five nonstop routes — Las Vegas, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, and Fort Myers — matching the leisure-route pattern typical of similar regional airport launches.
