Airport Expansion
DTX Parking Rates Are Official: $15 a Day, First 30 Minutes Free
The number everyone was waiting for is official, a week before the first flight: $15 a day, with the first half hour free and no tickets.

McKinney National Airport (DTX) has published its parking rates, six days before Avelo's first flight on November 11, 2026. The first 30 minutes are free. From 30 minutes to an hour costs $5, one to two hours is $10, and anything from two to 24 hours is $15.
The $15 daily figure matches what Community Impact reported on September 24. The difference is that it now comes from the airport itself: the rates are on its Parking and Directions page, and its November 4 travel-tips release repeats the $15 daily rate.
There is one lot, and it's simple. DTX has a single 980-space surface lot across from the terminal, with EV chargers. There's no garage, no economy lot and no shuttle, so a week-long parker walks the same short distance as someone picking up a friend. A three-night trip costs about $60, and a full week about $105.
Parking is ticketless. The gate opens automatically on the way in. You scan the Tap 'n Fly QR code on signs in the lot or the terminal, enter your license plate and phone number, and pay with Apple Pay, Google Pay or a card. When you leave, the exit gate reads your plate and charges you. Intercoms at every entry and exit kiosk reach live support 24 hours a day. Frequent flyers can sign up once for SwiftPass by Inflow, which opens the gate for registered plates on every visit at the normal rates.
You can't reserve a space. The airport says advance reservations aren't needed or available, and the lot is first come, first served. That's the one place DFW still has an edge: it advertises up to 50% off drive-up rates for parking booked ahead.
Disabled veterans park free. Vehicles with a qualifying Disabled Veteran or eligible Meritorious Military Honor license plate pay nothing, under Texas law, when driven by or for the veteran they're registered to. The airport takes eligibility questions at (972) 477-0910.
How it compares: DFW's October 1 increase put terminal parking at $37 a day with a TollTag or $40 by card, Express at $20–25, and Remote at $14–16 plus a shuttle ride. Love Field's garages run $18 to $24. At $15 with the terminal across the street, DTX is less than half DFW's terminal rate and level with its Remote lot, without the shuttle.
Pickups get cheaper too. The airport hasn't announced a separate cell-phone lot, but the free first 30 minutes does the same job: park, walk in, and meet your traveler at bag claim.
